Researchers have found that certain herbal products, vitamins and minerals can help in the treatment of diabetes. People with diabetes need certain vitamins that their bodies dont have enough of. The following is a list of vitamins and why diabetics need them:

• Biotin is a B vitamin needed to process glucose and help reduce diabetic nerve damage pain

• Vitamin B6 - vitamin B6 improves glucose levels in women with gestational diabetes or diabetes caused by pregnancy

• Vitamin B12- needed for nerve cells to function normally.

• Vitamin C - people with Type 1 Diabetes have low levels of vitamin C which lowers sorbitol levels. Sorbitol is a type of sugar than can accumulate and damage the eyes, nerves and kidneys of diabetics.

• Vitamin E - improves insulin activity

• diabetics should be taking : Carnitine,Chromium, Inositol,Magnesium,Potassium, Taurine,and Zinc.
